About me

Isabelle grew up in a house where somebody was always singing, and she took the habit to the stage at nineteen. Fifteen years later she is the voice of a small New Orleans supper club where the piano is tuned to her register and the regulars know better than to clap before the last note fades.

Her days start late. She sleeps till noon, walks the Quarter, buys flowers she has no vase for and spends the afternoon at the piano trying out phrases. By ten she is at the club. By two she is on a balcony, shoes off, wine in hand, still humming.
